Best If Used By and Lot Code Information
Trying to find the best if used by date for your food? Each bag of product should have a 7 character code printed on one side, 6 digits followed by 1 letter. The first 5 digits of the code represent the pack date, or Julian date. Here is how to read it: Let’s say the first 5 digits in the code on the bag reads “25032”. The first 2 numbers in the code represent the year the product was packed (25 = 2025). The next 3 numbers represent the Julian date – the day of that year (032 = 32nd day of the year = February 1st). So, “25032” represents a pack date of February 1st, 2025. You can then use this to determine the best if used by date with the table below. All products must be stored in a cool, dry environment.
